Kevin Vaughan is joining I-News as senior reporter.

Kevin is one of the best and most respected journalists ever to work in Colorado. His ability to investigate complex issues and his talent in telling compelling stories make him the perfect addition to the I-News Network.

Kevin starts Oct. 15. He is key to the I-News health reporting project, made possible by The Colorado Health Foundation.

Kevin arrives at I-News with a deep love and a broad understanding of Colorado. He has reported for four state newspapers: The Fort Morgan Times, The Coloradoan in Fort Collins, the Rocky Mountain News and, most recently, The Denver Post.

As an investigative reporter at the Post, he uncovered problems in the state’s licensure system for dentists, questionable relationships between local elected officials and businesses in Adams County, and disparities in enforcement of the Colorado drunken driving laws.

At the Rocky Mountain News, he anchored reporting on the Columbine High School shootings and the University of Colorado recruiting scandal. He also wrote heart-rending serial narratives about survival on Mount Ranier and a 1961 school bus-train accident, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.
